If I see Mike Solari on the street...

... I'm going to kick him squarely in the TAINT!

Maybe I'm just yanking the scab off of a really old wound and if you're not interested in reliving the frustration of offensive ineptitude of last year, feel free to jump to the next post.

Poll
If YOU saw Mike Solari on the street would you...
  • Kidnap him and deliver him to LJ's pad in a shopping cart- a'la Animal House?
  • Spray paint him Red and Gold and drop him outside McAfee Stadium the day of the Chiefs Raiders game?
  • Kick him squarely in the Taint?
  • Can't post what you'd do on the Internet, just in case you really do run into Mike Solari on the street???

Wesley Gone...

CHIEFS RELEASE SAFETY GREG WESLEY

Posted by Mike Tunison on July 17, 2008, 3:40 p.m.

League sources have told Pro Football Talk that the Kansas City Chiefs have released free safety Greg Wesley.

The 9th year safety, who has played his entire career to this point with the Chiefs, appeared in 15 games last season, started one and made 30 tackles. The Chiefs’ 3rd round pick in 2000 has 29 career interceptions.

Wesley, who is repped by Drew Rosenhaus, is expected to receive interest from a number of teams in the free agent market.

KU/UNC game kills Packer career???

In a delightful twist of fate, the KU Championship may have set the
table for CBS' removal of Billy Packer.

While most of us basketball fans had resigned ourselves to a few more
years of Billy Packer's inane ramblings, ACC bias, and his disdain for
the mid-major schools; CBS has remarkably sent ol' Billy out to
pasture with at least another year on his contract.

Poll
Did you actually enjoy Billy Packer's commentary during March???
  • Yes
  • No

Brodie-and-tits

According to the top headline on NFL.com this morning, the Kansas City Chiefs "believe in Croyle."

Dolphins take Long... but not the one you'd think.

Interesting tidbit from SportsbyBrooks.com...

Looks like the first pick from the Fins would be a Long, but not the one they're negotiating with.

Have a look and see for yourself.

Also-  Check out the funny vid clip from the reporter at the bottom.

Poll
Does this mean Jake Long drops to us?
  • Maybe- but it's more likely we'll take Gholston/Dorsey/Ellis up high and use the lower pick we get for JA to draft O-line
  • Yes
  • No

vote for the chief!

there's a battle royale of mascots going on over at the irreverent blog Kissing Suzy Kolber!

Today the Chief battles the Redskin.

Vote at

Kissing Suzy Kolber

At least our namesake can Qin this year!

And to round out the 300 characters- I'll warn everone that KSK is not for the faint of heart nor thin skinned.  You have to be a little off base to truly appreciate their sick humor.

Where are you regarding the #5???

I've given the draft a bit of thought over the past few days and I'm struggling to figure out what would make me the happiest.

Poll
What would make you the happiest with the #5
  • Mike Jenkins/Leodis McKelvin- A shutdown CB is worth #5 and above
  • Ryan Clady- Jake Long Light is a reach at #5 but we're desperate for O-line
  • Vernon Gholston- he's a freak and if JA leaves, we'll need him desperately
  • Darren McFadden- Run DMC is too good to pass up if he's there.
  • Trade down- we need too many picks this year, take the best offer that adds talent
  • Jake Long- anything less is a wasted pick
  • Glenn Dorsey/Sedrick Ellis- Let's shore up the D. It won Balt a SuperBowl

A flip of the coin...

The teams will meet at the combine this weekend and will hold the official coin flips which will determine our draft order 3-5.

As I remember, we can do no better than 4, but because of salary issues and desired player (Long) we're holding out for #5.

I can't seem to find the specifics of the flip- rules, order, why #5 is best.  Any comments clarifying would be welcomed.
