After only 6 days on the practice squad, WR Brent Little has been dropped from the practice squad in favor of WR William Buchanon.
Buchanon (6-3, 191) attended training camp with Oakland from 2006-07 and also spent time in camp with the N.Y. Giants this year. He spent time on the Raiders practice squad a year ago before being promoted to the 53-man roster on December 19th. He played in two games for Oakland in 2006, catching one pass for nine yards.
Lot of nervous energy surrounding the wide receiver position recently. Seems like the temporary loss of Eddie Kennison may have some coaches spooked. Or Brent Little just blew it somehow for a second time.
The Oceanside, California native played cornerback and wide receiver at USC. Buchanon earned All-America honors as a senior at Oceanside High School when he caught 30 passes for 553 yards (23.0 avg.) with five TDs. Buchanon’s father, Willie played 11 years in the NFL for Green Bay and San Diego.
Also, LB William Kershaw was dropped from the active roster to make room for Jared Allen this weekend.
