Morning Update

First and foremost, the Royals home opener was fantastic. Easily the best home opener I've been to in a long, long time. The Royals actually won and the weather was perfect. On to the Chiefs. Whats happened since last Friday?

We signed safety Jon McGraw, a former Lion and Jet.
If Trent Green does go to Cleveland, of which now there is really no indication, we could face him in the preseason against the Browns (or the Dolphins).
Arrowhead Addict takes a look at Fresno State WR Paul Williams as potential pick in the draft.

Thats pretty much the little bit of news we've been seeing over the weekend and the beginning of the week. I've got an off season review coming up later today so check back.

I almost forgot to mention to keep an eye on Field Gulls, our Seahawk's site that is the hub of the Sports Blog Nation Mock NFL Draft. Head over there and see where we stand. I will be picking at 23 coming up in the next few days. Dwyane Jarrett if he's still available? I think so.

**UPDATE** Trent Green showed up yesterday for the first day of off season conditioning, according to the Kansas City Star.

Could be a good late draft pick up

Wouldn't lose much if he turned out to be total crap. What are we going to do in the first round? Bowe or Jarrett? Or somebody else?

Hmmmm...

I'm thinking maybe we should take an offensive lineman now in the first round, or maybe even a CB, and see if somebody like Rice falls to us in round two. Also, there is a chance that we could get another second for Green, even if we had to give up a late-round pick.

I think I prefer Jarrett over Bowe and Meachem. The USC-Mike Williams thing scares me a bit, but I think he'll be more like Keyshawn as a pro.

I don't think there

is anyway we are getting a 2nd round pick for Trent Green. I don't know what team would make that deal.

Green

I'm hearing that the Dolphins are getting increasingly desperate. Since they haven't spoken with Carr, Culpepper may get cut still, and Russell or Quinn won't fall to them in the draft, the only option is really Green. Or Cleo Lemon, who isn't ready. With competition from Detroit and Cleveland, and Carl playing hardball, I see us getting no lower than a third. Keep in mind that the Dolphins received a second and seventh for WES WELKER, and that they now have two second-round picks. One of those could easily go to the Chiefs, especially if we sent them our fifth-round pick, or maybe even our, gulp, third.
