This update from Jay Glazer of Fox Sports says the Chiefs will find out today if Larry Johnson needs surgery on his injured right foot.
Up until the latter part of this week, Johnson's foot, it turns out, was actually too swollen to get an accurate detailed picture of the damage. The team knew there was a crack but the doctors weren't sure how severe the injury is. Chiefs sources told FOX Sports that Johnson will have an MRI on Monday to determine whether or not surgery will be necessary to repair his foot.
Wow. This is quite the turn of events. Last week it was reported that Larry was walking without a boot and that he expected to return this season. Now, who knows? We'll find out today. There may be some truth to that MyFox Colorado report after all.
Whether or not it's needed, there doesn't seem to be a lot of optimism from anyone inside the building that he will return this season. Despite Johnson claiming the report he was done for the year was false, the players and coaches hardly believe he will return in 2008.
